MONTREAL – The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is closely monitoring the developments related to Tuesday’s accident of UPS Flight
2976, an MD-11 that impacted ground facilities during takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, Kentucky.
The Federation extends its deepest condolences to the loved ones of the flight crew members and ground personnel who lost their lives in this tragic accident, and offers its heartfelt wishes for the full and swift recovery of all those who were injured.
The Federation urges caution against speculation in media and social media surrounding this occurrence and remains committed to ensuring that the investigation into the circumstances of this accident strictly follow the provisions and timelines laid out in ICAO Annex 13, with relevant contributing factors and safety recommendations identified by the investigative Body.
