FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MONTREAL, Canada – The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is aware of the tragic circumstances related to Turkish Airlines flight TK204 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Istanbul Airport (IST), which resulted in a diversion and safe landing at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Our thoughts are with the loved ones and colleagues of the flight’s Captain, who reportedly became incapacitated during the flight and subsequently passed away.
The Federation has reached out to its Turkish Association, TALPA, to offer any support or assistance required and will keep its resources at the disposal of TALPA and the relevant authorities.
