MONTREAL – The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is closely monitoring developments related to Wednesday’s accident involving Satena Flight 8849, at Curasica, Playa de Belén, Colombia.
The Federation extends its deepest condolences to the loved ones of the passengers and flight crew members who lost their lives in this tragic accident.
IFALPA has reached out and offered its full support and assistance to ACDAC, our local Member Association, and remains available to provide support throughout the investigation process.
The Federation urges caution against speculation in media and on social media surrounding this occurrence and remains committed to ensuring that the investigation into the circumstances of this accident strictly follow the provisions and timelines laid out in ICAO Annex 13, with relevant contributing factors and safety recommendations identified by the investigative Body.
